How your nervous system keeps you healthy
As you read these very words, millions of nerve impulses are communicating in your body. Branching off your spinal cord are millions of nerves that spread throughout your entire body. These nerves make up the greatest and most complex communication system on earth. The greatest doctor in the world is your nervous system.
Your nervous system is like an incredible orchestra conductor, keeping your heart beating, reminding you to breathe, monitoring your hydration, telling you when to eat, sleep, go to the bathroom… How does all this work? The brain communicates these commands to the rest of the body through the spinal cord.
